Detecting violent scenes in movies using Gated Recurrent Units and Discrete Wavelet Transform

The easiness of accessing video on various platforms can negatively impact if not done wisely, especially for children. Parental supervision is needed so that movies avoid inappropriate displays such as violence. Violent scenes in trigger children to commit acts violence, which desired. Unfortunately, it easy supervise them fully. This study proposed a method automatic detection violent movies. Automatic violence assists the parents and censorship institutions detecting easily. uses Gated Recurrent Units (GRU) algorithm wavelet feature extraction detect scenes. paper shows comparative studies variation mother wavelet. experimental results show GRU robust deliver best performance accuracy 0.96 while combining with Symlet Coiflets8. combination Coiflets8 better than predecessor.
